    Big Lake Movers Reviews

This company is wonderful and I can’t thank Mach and his guys enough for helping us out in a pinch!! Sam and Omar did an incredible job helping me move my late grandmother’s furniture. They were friendly and professional and sweet. They were flexible and accommodating. The whole process was easy and they scheduled the move in less than 24 hours. I called several other companies and couldn’t find anyone who could help (and none of them have even called me back yet) until I called Big Lake Movers. I hired them because they had great reviews and now I’m joining the choir. They are careful, compassionate and courteous movers. And when they are moving precious items, there’s nothing more wonderful than knowing those things are in good hands. Thanks again for all your help guys!!!

Moved out of our house in May into a storage unit using Big Lake Movers with Anthony and Jeremiah as our expert movers and were so happy to see them again to move us out of the storage unit into our new home! They are fast, careful, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile to help. Thank you Big Lake Movers, Anthony and Jeremiah, you guys are fantastic!!

One word characterizes our experience with Big Lake Movers: exemplary. After receiving a good price to load a pod bound for southern California, Nate and Gates entered our home friendly and ready to work. I was pleasantly surprised with the speed in which they loaded our belongings and their expertise. My husband’s first words to me upon observing them was, “These guys are good. They know their stuff!” We highly recommend this company and couldn’t be happier with the way they conducted themselves from start to finish. Many thanks guys!!

Mach and the others did an excellent job of packing and loading! I would recommend this crew!…Thanks Guys!

I highly recommend Big Lake Movers. Their price was very good. On the day of the mover they worked fast to load up all our belongings into their truck. They were very courteous and pleasant. Did I mention they were fast? When they got to the new place they were right back to work. It was great not having to lift a finger. They moved all our things in with no damage!

Amazing experience. I recommend this service to friends or anyone considering moving!! It reduced the stress of moving…Very professional & friendly.

There are many places to live like Grand Rapids, Holland, and Kalamazoo. For example, Kalamazoo has 21 different neighborhoods you could choose from to live in and several are family-oriented; however, there are a few that rank supreme. Based on quality of schools, cost of living, safety, and percentage of families, these include:

    1. Texas Charter Township

    2. Prairie Ronde Township

    3. Hill n’ Brook

    4. Cooper Charter Township

    5. Parkview Hills

All these neighborhoods offer a variety of amenities and fun things to do in town or in close proximity

    3. What is the cost of living in Western Michigan?

Cost of living is 5% lower than the national average. In fact, the median home price for Grand Rapids, Holland and Kalamazoo is around $260,000 and the median household income is $26,000.

    4. Why should I consider moving to this area?

A lot of opportunities await in Western Michigan and it has a lot to offer, especially young adults and young families. In fact, in 2021 Kalamazoo was listed as the #1 coolest place to live considering its low cost of living. It also has an active downtown with a lot of restaurants, bars, shopping mall, and events and festivals throughout the year. It’s in close proximity to outdoor recreational activities including over 36 parks and an hour drive from Lake Michigan.

5 . Does it cost more to move my office or my home?

This depends on a few factors, such as sq. footage, travel distance from your old and new place, and what type of items you’re moving. A bigger place most likely consists of more things, which would take more time and more movers to efficiently wrap, pack, and load items onto a moving truck. Depending on the quantity of items and how large some of them are, more than one truck may be necessary as well.

Additionally, if you have really heavy or awkward items, like pianos, or the need for disassembly and reassembly of items, extra movers on hand may be required for safe handling.

    6. What is the safest places to live?

Like many big cities, you’ll have areas that are more dangerous than others. Grand Rapids, Holland, and Kalamazoo are all relatively safe places to live compared to other cities. In regards to Kalamazoo, the north and west sides of the city are the safest. This includes WMU KRPH Alamo, Texas Drive Park, Texas Corners, and W O Ave. & S 4th St. The type of crime matters too when you’re deciding on where to live. Out of the entire Kalamazoo area, you’re more likely to become a victim of a property crime – theft being the biggest – rather than a violent crime.

    7. Does the area have good schools for children?

Yes. For example, Kalamazoo has 139 schools from preschools to high schools including public, private, and charter schools. The top-rated schools in the area based on greatschools.org include Woods Lake Elementary, Linden Grove Middle School, and Parchment High School. Portage public school district is listed as the best overall on Niche.
